Discussion Documents - Financial Service Providers
June 2009
The following discussion papers relate to the implementation of the financial service
providers dispute resolution framework as required by the Financial Service Providers
(Registration and Dispute Resolution) Act 2008. The Financial Service Providers Act requires
that financial service providers must be registered and those who provide financial services
to the public must be members of either an approved dispute resolution scheme or the reserve (dispute resolution) scheme.
The discussion papers seek feedback on the:
- draft guidelines to assist schemes applying to become an approved dispute resolution scheme; and the
- proposed operating rules and governance arrangements of the reserve dispute resolution scheme.
The following discussion document seeks feedback on proposals for
fees regulations under the Financial Service Providers (Registration and
Dispute Resolution) Act 2008 and the Financial Advisers Act 2008. The
closing date for submissions is 13 November 2009.
